My name is Raul Perdomo. Welcome to my corner of the internet. I am a cybersecurity professional currently working for General Motors as a Penetration Tester. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Assurance and Cyber Defense as well as a Master’s in Cybersecurity both from Eastern Michigan University. I also currently hold the OSCP and CISSP certifications.
Prior to working at GM, I was a entrepreneur and small business owner in Ann Arbor, MI. I owned Apples and Oranges computer repair, a break/fix repair shop located near U of M’s central campus. After five years I sold the business and spent a year as a grad student before pivoting into a more directly cybersecurity related role.
In 2017 I married my wonderful wife, Laura. Together we live with our 4 year old golden retriever, Lucy, and our toddler, Ronan. The four of us are on a journey to see all the National Parks and are well on our way.
In 2022 I traveled with the rest of the GM Red Team members to Vegas for DefCon 30. There we competed in the Car Hacking Village CTF. After almost 50 hours of competition we came out on top. Hopefully I can write more about this experience some time in the future.
I hope to use this space to document musings and create write ups for projects I am working on. I am interested in many things, but tend to spend my time out side of school and work riding my bike, playing hockey, and trying out new technologies that interest me.
